Background:
In modern society, High speed train has been a very obvious symbol of Urban influence and competitiveness. China has spent a huge money into high railway & train development. Until the end of 2022, Chinese high-speed rail has been up to 42 000 km, has been about 66% mileage of the whole world. Meanwhile, more and more countries are discussing & researching on the high-speed rail & train development. We can foresee, the world will be better and closer, with the development of high-speed rail.
With the development of high-speed intercity railways and the continuous improvement of transportation safety requirements, problems such as low working efficiency and high operating costs of traditional flaw detection equipment have gradually emerged. Rail flaw detection has been highly concerned by railway operation and maintenance departments. In order to achieve the goal of becoming concrete, our customer developed the “Self-propelled Ultrasonic Rail Flaw Detector”, which filled the domestic gap and reached the international level of similar products.
Project Description:
You maybe have seen this project before, as it is not a new, but very typical customization service from TAICENN. We have been supporting our industrial computing hardware solutions for this project since 2017. And we need to provide a suitable industrial computing hardware for this railway ultrasonic inspection application. However, the application requirements have changed for several times already. In the past, we delivered a full all-in-one water-proof touch panel PC for them. But this time, they request to change into a Box PC and monitor models.
The whole device is used to detect rails (heard and waist) status, to assure the safety and security of the rails and trains. Together with the technology of IOT (Internet of Things), machine vision, ultrasonic technology, and Cloud server system, it can fulfill real-time data collection and storage on-site environment. Also, it supports on-site review to save the secondary detection, improve the utilization rate of staff and efficiency of railway detection.
After our consult with customers, customer prefer to adapt super high-performance computing with a touch display panel for their new version design. As we know, the industrial computer and industrial touch monitor will be mounted in a specific vehicle. The inspection vehicle uses ultrasonic detection technology, machine vision detection technology, vibration-induced stress monitoring technology to fulfill the railway safety inspection.
What TAICENN do?
Due to its high-performance requirement on machine vision and image processing, then we will propose a desktop 65W CPU platform as its processing core. The violent vibration & shock, outdoor and sun-readable environments are also very traditional requirement on this project.
TAICENN designs and customizes an Industrial Box PCs and a full IP65 industrial resistive touch monitor with High brightness 1000 nits and auto-dimming feature. What’s more, the whole Box PC and monitor will use full IP65 water-proof aviation connectors to connect each other and other devices from the detection vehicle.
TAICENN developed a Box PC with sheet-metal materials, adapting Intel 9th Gen. Q370 Chipset i7-9700 CPU platform, with all full IP65 water-proof aviation connectors, including 4 GbE, 2 USB, AC, On/Off button, and 1 HDMI, 1 DC out and 1 USB touch for Industrial monitor. This Box PC can store under the vehicle, so with fan and holes are still ok for the application.
To another Full IP65 industrial touch monitor, the solution uses a 19-inch, widescreen, full IP65 waterproof connectors, Resistive touchscreen, high brightness 1000 nits with auto-dimming features. The whole industrial monitor provides limited I/O interfaces, 1 HDMI, 1 USB, 1 DC connectors. The designed industrial touch monitor can support operating temp. is -25~+75C, very suitable for outdoor operating and harsh environmental.
